Project Overview   

Learn To Love To Read (L2L2R) is a wonderful charity focused on fostering a love for reading among young children. But as the charity grew, their existing CRM system wasn’t keeping pace. It was clunky, difficult to navigate, and ultimately, holding them back from reaching more kids and doing what they do best. Subsequently, the charity reached out to LinkUp London to ask for volunteer support in sourcing a new CRM system - As a LinkUp London Volunteer, I was tasked with supporting L2L2R on the project. The goal? Find the perfect CRM system that would not only meet their current needs, but also grow with them as they continued to expand their impact. This wasn’t just about finding any CRM—it was about finding the CRM that would make their work easier, more efficient, and more impactful.

I dove into research, examining the ins and outs of various CRM systems that could be a good fit for Learn To Love To Read. I looked at everything from usability and cost to scalability and how well each system aligned with the charity’s specific goals and operations. After gathering all the data, I compiled my findings into a comprehensive report, laying out the best options and giving clear, actionable recommendations on the way forward.

Project Outcome   

After the initial research phase - Here’s what happened next:

  1. Clear Path Forward:
    • The comprehensive report provided the charity with a clear, straightforward path to transition to a new CRM system. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the options out there, they now had a curated shortlist of the best systems for their needs, complete with pros, cons, and recommendations. This was crucial in ensuring they invested in a system that would serve them well for years to come.
  2. Tailored Recommendations:
    • My recommendations weren’t just generic advice—they were tailored to the specific needs and challenges of Learn To Love To Read. This meant the charity could confidently move forward with a solution that was the right fit, rather than wasting time and resources on a trial-and-error approach.

TL;DR: Working with Learn To Love To Read on this project was a great experience! Not only did we discover a CRM that could scale with their ambitions, but we also empowered them to work smarter, not harder. Now, they’re better equipped to keep spreading the love of reading, one child at a time. And as an avid reader knowing that my research played a part in that? That’s the best outcome of all 🤓
